Jute Webbing Seat - How To

I don't remember where or when I got this cute little chair.  It had a broken out cane seat, I'm not a huge fan of caning and I certainly don't know how to do it so I just tore what was left off.

Saw this idea on Pinterest

via Pinterest - upholstery webbing

and thought I'd give it a try.

Not quite the before picture.

Tacked the back first and cut strips to fit.

Next the front.

One side and then the other.

All done!

Also, I wanted to show you the sweet apron I got from

Remember she won my 2 Year Blogiversary Giveaway.  Well it turns out she lives very close by, so we agreed to meet up.  She gifted me one of her handmade vintage sheet aprons, so cute!

Reversible!

Funny story about my first 'on purpose' blog meet up - when I told the little girl I met with someone from blogland she scolded me, "What?!  You don't know who they might be!"  Come to find out later, Cassandra kept the information from her mother as well, for the very same reason.  Too funny!

Be sure to visit Cassandra's etsy shop and blog

Junkin' Treasures and Giveaway Winner

Took me a while to get this post together, picture downloading issues again, argh!
But.....
Company's all gone, even the sheets and towels have been washed.  Wow, amazing what gets done when you stay home!

My sister and her husband were here for close to a week.  Their visit was overlapped a day with Mr. Wonderful's sister, in town for business.

It was fun while it lasted, estate sales, junk shops, bead store, Warrenton and Round Top, eating, drinking, swimming, crafting, redecorating.  Didn't mention sleeping, could have used some more of that, ha!

First up a fantastic estate sale, that of a local framer.  We bought 10 foot lengths of picture frame molding, a quarter a piece!  My sister is good at making her own frames and is framing a print for me.  Best sister ever!  (oops, in case my other sisters read this)  Such a sweet sister!

We spent 2 days in Warrenton and Round Top, still had plenty of room in the back of my truck, but we came back with some treasures.

Here's the pendent my sister brought for me to commemorate the occasion.

So true!
I consider my truck to be a mobile storage unit.

Best deal.....a wood box filled with 30+ door knobs, back plates, and lock sets. Woohoo!

Fun story that shows how generous junkers are.  I'd just walked up to the booth of a gal I know who was just selling her last door knobs.  Ooooh, nooo!  But never mind.  So we stay to chat a bit and the husband of the couple that bought the last of the knobs comes back to tell me there's this box of knob just over here if I'm interested!
Seriously?!
Who does that?!
Junkers, that's who.

This is the market sign I bought that my sister helped me trim with some corner pieces I bought at Gold Rush in Minnesota last summer.  The she helped me hang it over my sink, then she decided my trays were all off balance, commence the redecorating.

Same thing only different and more.

Old wood tote box turned into a coffee mug shelf.  The printed mugs are from my all time favorite restaurant, The Hungry Peddler in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.  The dark brown are from the vintage set we're using everyday, Marcrest Daisy and Dot design.

2nd Blogiversary Giveaway

I'm a little late to celebrate but you know how life keeps getting in the way of getting things done. Ha!
I haven't been out in blogland as much as I'd like to lately, but I really do enjoy all the wonderfully generous sharing of ideas and loving kindness that blogging has brought into my life.  And for being part of that I thank all of you!

So in honor of my second Blogiversary I'm offering you, my sweet compadres of the blogging world, a sweet giveaway!

For 2nd anniversary's modern says china and traditional says cotton

So here's my take on china.....

I like to collect these little sauces and plates and mix and match them into coaster sets.

And tie them up with a pretty ribbon or vintage seam tape.

These are just a sample of some I've collected.  Not sure what I have left.  Maybe the winner could suggest a color scheme.

I tried a new to me site for photo editing called PicMonkey.  Don't really know what I'm doing yet but at least the pictures are brighter than my originals, see below.

Then for cotton, let me go with burlap.  I've been working on these cute little burlap bags, sewing on old lace and buttons and such.  Something like this.....

Ooooo, burlap!
Only different.....

So next week I'm going to the antiques and fleas at and around Round Top.  I'll pick up something fun to fit in the bag,
a surprise!

Here's the drill:

Followers, shout it out for one entry!

Entry number 2, let me know what treasure you'd search for at Round Top in a second comment.

2nd Blogiversay at Zueeuz.blogspot.com

Post this little picture on you blog's sidebar, link it back to my giveaway, don't forget to let me know, for 2 bonus entrys!!  Woohoo!!

I got life happening around here again.....
finishing up on a volunteer 'opportunity' and 2 sets of company coming.

So I'll close entries on Easter night 11:59 PM CT and pick a winner Monday.

Thank you all in advance for entering and giving me some warm fuzzies, I feel the love!

It's Always Something Random

This time, the program I use to download pictures is not working for some reason.  If I weren't so computer illiterate I might be of some help to myself.

So here are some random pictures I don't think I've shared before.

This is bracelet and earring set I am donating to the Heart to Heart Gala for the Sacred Heart Clinic in Round Rock, read more about it here.

The Boy's birthday, in January.  I'd forgotten how he'd put the candles.

Oh, he'll be home next week but we'll have to share him with this lovely lady, I'm not saying it's going to be and equal share, but what's a mom to do?!

His cake's always made like Neapolitan ice cream.

I organized my storage unit yesterday, no pictures of that, but I do have one of a cute little cupboard I bartered with a gal for.  Still in storage just waiting for some inspiration, any ideas?  At least I can get to it without too much effort now.

The Little Girl and my Mr. Wonderful after Christmas on the San Antonio river-walk, blinded by the light!

My mom, my sister, who's coming down for Round Top 'squeal', her 2 grand daughters (from her son), and her daughter, who's pregnant for the first time, with twins, 'squeal squeal'!

And this picture I took with my phone so I could show a different niece some ideas for bridesmaid earrings.
Now I can pin it and she can see it in Spain where she is for the semester.

And I missed my 2 year blogiversary at the beginning of the month so I need to put my thinking cap on and come up with a giveaway.  So please stay tuned!

Putting a Few Things Together

I'd like to share some pictures of a few things I've put together lately.
First up is this tiered caddy, my take on the caddies I've seen on etsy, Pinterest, and Pottery Barn.
I have collected a bunch of these vintage loaf pans for a project I ended up not liking, so I used them here.

Some more rings made from vintage earrings.

Wine bags from vintage fabrics.

Had some old and not so old glass paper weights.
Put some vintage bits and pieces under glass.

Some more sun catchers.

Made some cupcake stands and some flower cupcakes.
Inspiration from Pinterest.

I tried my hand at some faux mercury glass candle holders.

A couple necklaces.  This perfume bottle got a rhinestone earring bling.

I added a cameo to the front of this locket picture album necklace.

Now I need to list some things in my etsy shop.  A little embarrassing having the shelves empty after I gushed last fall about how easy they have made the listing process.  My bad.

Have a great week everyone!
